Iran wishes autonomy project constitutes 'platform of understanding' between parties

The Iranian Foreign Minister, Manouchehr Mottaki voiced hope, here on Monday that the autonomy project - which Morocco is preparing to solve its thirty-year-old dispute over the Sahara with the Algeria-backed Polisario separatists - would constitute a platform for understanding between all the parties.

Autonomy endorsement by Sahara populations, 'tantamount to self-determination exercise', CORCAS

The endorsement by the Moroccan people of the large autonomy proposal for Morocco's Southern provinces - the Sahara - and in particular by the populations in this region, is "tantamount to a self determination exercise", according to members of the Royal the Royal Advisory Council for Saharan Affairs.
