Burkina Faso on Wednesday commended Morocco's proposal to grant large autonomy to the southern provinces, the Sahara, within the framework of Morocco's sovereignty and territorial integrity.

The autonomy project to be presented by Morocco to settle the Sahara conflict with the Algeria-backed Polisario separatists, is Morocco's proposal to overcome the "deadlock" in which the issue is currently locked and is a "major contribution to security, stability and development in the Mediterranean region."
