A press conference by the Council chairman of at the Embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco in Paris

Mr. Khalihenna Ould Errachid, President of the Royal Advisory Council for Saharan Affairs, held a press conference on Wednesday at the Embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco in Paris, with representatives of various written and audio-visual media. He gave a detailed presentation of the Moroccan initiative to grant sweeping autonomy to the Sahara region, turn the page on the past and make reconciliation, as well as corcas functions updated for this purpose by His Majesty King Mohammed VI.

Council delegation meets with officials from the French Green Party in Paris

The delegation of the Royal Advisory Council for Saharan Affairs met on Wednesday at the headquarters of the Green Party with party officials. It is the first time the party receives a Moroccan delegation to hear its point of view on the Sahara issue, and the proposed solutions to find a way-out this conflict.

The President of the Royal Advisory Council for Saharan Affairs Khalihenna Ould Errachid said on Wednesday in Paris, during a meeting with representatives of  Saharan associations in France that autonomy proposal in the southern provinces is "not a political tactic to gain time."

Corcas Delegation to visit France May 3-4, 2006

A delegation of the Royal Advisory Council for Saharan Affairs, headed by Mr. Khalihenna Ould Errachid and Secretary-General Maoulainain ben Khalihenna and Council's members is expected in France on Wednesday, in the context of a working visit to present the Moroccan initiative to grant autonomy to the Sahara, and identify successful French models of self-government Overseas.
