After  Paris and Madrid, a delegation from the Royal Advisory Council for Saharan Affairs, headed by Mr. Khalihenna Ould Errachid and Secretary-General, Mr. Maoulainain Ben Khalihenna pays a visit to the Canary Islands from 01 to 04 June 2006, in the context of a European tour to introduce the proposal to resolve the Moroccan Sahara conflict, and take advantage of European models of autonomy.

Morocco wants to put an end to an open conflict that has lasted for 31 years. Accordingly, it has elaborated an autonomy project that the Royal Advisory Council for Saharan affairs, headed by a Moroccan born in Laayoune, came last week to present in Spain.

Khalihenna: All Spanish parties lacked the truth about the Sahara conflict

Mr. Khalihenna Ould Errachid considered the visit by a delegation from the Council to Spain in May 2006 as "very fruitful", adding that the delegation received requests to continue communication and interpretation of Moroccan dimensions and goals to grant the project a broad autonomy to the Sahara region .
