Mr. Lewis Kwermo Makebo, Director-General for relations with Africa in the Canary Islands declared after a meeting with a delegation of the Royal Advisory Council for Saharan Affairs he hopes to achieve a final peace and stability in the Sahara, as well as his desire to contribute to the development of the area.

Mr. Khalihenna talks with advisers of presidency, justice and official government spokesman in the Canary Islands

In a meeting with members of the local government of Canary Islands, Mr. Khalihenna Ould Errachid gave a detailed presentation on the Royal Advisory Council for Saharan Affairs, and stressed that the most important tasks assigned to him is to contribute actively to the project of granting autonomy to the southern provinces of the Kingdom, as a final and realistic solution to the Sahara conflict.

 In a meeting with the President of the Royal Advisory Council for Saharan Affairs and his accompanying delegation, the Secretary-General of the workers Union in the Canary Islands expressed her willingness to make the necessary efforts to bridge the gap between the parties concerning autonomy, especially after the removal within the United Nations of the possibility to hold a referendum of self-determination.
