Strengthening the experiences of the national cause constitutes the first priority of the Moroccan diplomacy’s action in accordance with the high instructions of His majesty King Mohammed VI, asserted on Wednesday the minister of foreign affairs and cooperation Mr Taib fassi fihri.

 Mr Amadou Toumani Toure the Malian president greeted the “courageous” Moroccan initiative aiming at granting a substantial autonomy to the provinces of the Sahara.

President of Mali, Amadou Toumani Touré has hailed as "courageous" Morocco's proposal to grant autonomy to its Southern Provinces -the Sahara- saying that such initiative would help settle the 32-year old dispute over the former Spanish colony.

The Moroccan initiative for negotiating an autonomy statute for the Sahara region was elaborated by consensus involving the entire political and civil society representatives of the population of the region, asserted the Moroccan ambassador in Rome Mr Tajedine Baddou.
