A prominent Sahrawi figure has called on the leaders of the Algeria-backed separatist movement "Polisario" to "show realism, restraint and display proper judgement" by accepting Morocco's proposal of a larger autonomy to the disputed Sahara region.

The Canary Islands daily "La Provincia" called on "Polisario" to put an end to its opposition to change and dogmatism and follow the "political evolution" in the region, following Morocco's proposal to grant a large autonomy to the southern provinces, Sahara.

Kalthoom Khayat: We call on Algeria to play a productive role to resolve the humanitarian tragedy of the Tindouf camps

Mrs. Kalthoom Khayat, member of the Royal Advisory Council for Saharan Affairs and the Federation of Women's Work During a meeting, which brought together delegations from corcas and High Commission for Human Rights in Geneva called upon the Algerian government, "which reiterates that it is not a party to the conflict, to play a productive role for the solution of this human tragedy ".

The President of the Belgian Senate Mrs. Anne-Marie Lizin on met Tuesday in Brussels a delegation of the Royal Advisory Council for Saharan Affairs led by the President of the Council, Mr. Khalihenna Ould Errachid  who made a presentation on self-rule in the Sahara and the tasks entrusted to him by His Majesty King Mohammed VI .
