Morocco is seeking a solution to the Sahara issue, which will serve not only the local population and Moroccans in the camps, but also the Maghreb integration and the normalization of relations with Algeria, as well as the security and stability of the region, said the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Mr. Taieb Fassi Fihri.

Morocco, which entered the third round of negotiations on the Sahara, driven by good will, regrets that the other party showed obstinacy by sticking to its previous positions, heedless of the calls made by the international community, said, here Wednesday, Moroccan Interior Minister, Chakib Benmoussa.

The third round of the UN-led talks on the Sahara issue kicked off on Tuesday morning in Manhasset, outskirts of New York city under the auspices of the united Nations and the participation of delegations of Morocco, Polisario , Algeria, and Mauritania.

Morocco is determined to go as far as possible in the negotiation process to put an end to the 32-year old dispute over the Sahara, Communication Minister and government spokesman, Khalid Naciri said on Thursday.
