HR breaches in Tindouf should be 'at the core' of Sahara negotiations, US NGO

The California based American Council for Moroccan POW's (ACMP) affirmed on Monday that the human rights' breaches perpetrated over thirty years in the Tindouf camps, south-western Algeria, should be at the core of negotiations, stressing that responsibility of such abuse should be clearly established.

China reiterates support for all initiatives aimed at finding peaceful solution

 The Chinese Director General of the Department of West Asian and North African Affairs in the Chinese Foreign Ministry reaffirmed his country's full support to "any useful actions and initiatives" aimed at reaching a "peaceful and rapid" solution to the Sahara dispute, a solution that enjoys the approval of the parties concerned.

Japan reiterates its support to a peaceful and negotiated solution to the Sahara issue

The Japanese Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs, Mr Yasuhide Nakayama, reiterated, in Rabat Monday, the support of his country to a peaceful and negotiated solution to the Sahara issue, within the framework of the United Nations. In a statement to the press after a meeting with Ms. Latifa Akharbach, State Secretary to the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, the Japanese official insisted on the importance of stability in the Maghreb and the strengthening of ties between countries in the region.
