The date of 14 August 1979 will remain forever engraved as a memorable step in the process of completion of the Kingdom’s territorial integrity. On this day, Moroccans have witnessed, with pride and great satisfaction, the return to motherland of the Oued Eddahab province.

The United States has shown "unequivocal support" for the UN Secretary-General's Personal Envoy for the Sahara, Peter van Walsum, deeming "impartial" and "realistic" his efforts to settle the Sahara issue, said a U.S. diplomatic source quoted Tuesday by the Moroccan daily "Aujourd'hui le Maroc".

 Saharan tribal elders confirmed permanent mobilization behind His Majesty King Mohammed VI and continuing endeavour for the preservation of the Kingdom’s territorial unity and the defence of national shrines.

 The Regional Assembly of Sicily (Parliament) expressed its support to Morocco's initiative to grant a substantial autonomy to Morocco's southern provinces, the Sahara.

 King Mohammed VI reaffirmed, on Wednesday,Morocco's commitment to pursue its "extended hand" policy in order to achieve full reconciliation between the parties concerned by the Sahara dispute.
