Khalihenna: Sahara will have a Moroccan autonomy

Chairman of the Royal Advisory Council for Saharan Affairs said that Morocco is working to establish a Moroccan autonomy in the Sahara inspired by ohter experiences. In an interview published last Monday by L'Evenement Nigerian weekly , he added that referundum is not workable and not possible.

Morocco wants to put an end to an open conflict that has lasted for 31 years. Accordingly, it has elaborated an autonomy project that the Royal Advisory Council for Saharan affairs, headed by a Moroccan born in Laayoune, came last week to present in Spain.

Asharq Al Awsat : the chairman of the Royal Advisory Council for Saharan Affairs, said autonomy plan in the Sahara proposed by Morocco «is equal to self-determination”, which will put an end to the conflict and the sufferings of Sahrawis in Tindouf in south-western Algeria.
