The United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) adopted, on Friday, without a vote, a resolution reiterating the UN support for the process of negotiations on the Sahara, calling on “all parties and States of the region to fully cooperate with the Secretary General and his Personal Envoy, and with each other.”

In a speech to the nation Sunday evening, marking the 36th anniversary of the Green March, His Majesty King Mohammed VI said that the Moroccan Sahara will be a model for advanced regionalization, implying a democratic election of its instances and a large transfer of powers and resources from the center to the regions, and providing bodies for regional and national solidarity, social upgrading and human development.
