The UN Security Council held, in New York, closed-door consultations on the Moroccan Sahara issue. These regular consultations are provided for by Council Resolution 2654 adopted last October 27.

The development process underway in the southern provinces of Morocco and the autonomy plan, presented by the kingdom, for the settlement of the artificial conflict over the Moroccan Sahara have been the focus of a roundtable, held Tuesday in London, in the presence of several British MPs.

The members of a British parliamentary delegation, on a working visit to Morocco, learned, Wednesday and Thursday, about the development dynamics in the Dakhla-Oued Eddahab region.

Brazil maintains a "legalist and wise" position on the Moroccan Sahara, defending a political solution in the UN Security Council, said Morocco's ambassador to Brasilia Nabil Adghoghi.

Morocco's ambassador to South Africa Youssef Amrani has strongly refuted the false South African allegations on the Moroccan Sahara issue expressed recently by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Alvin Botes, in an op-ed piece dedicated to the Moroccan Sahara issue and which was published in the party's magazine "ANC Today".
