Moroccan autonomy initiative 'serious proposal' to solve Sahara dispute, Luxemburger minister

The Moroccan initiative for the negotiation of an autonomy status in the Sahara is a "very serious proposal" to reach a political solution to the Sahara issue, said, here Wednesday, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration of Luxembourg, Jean Asselborn.

Autonomy, only realistic , fair and equitable solution "

  Ms. Hajabouha Zoubeir member of the Royal Advisory Council for Saharan Affairs and President of the Moroccan Association of Women Entrepreneurs for development, said that autonomy for the southern regions of the Kingdom, "which engaged all Sahrawis is the only  realistic fair and equitable solution" to the Sahara.

 The United Nations Security Council adopted on Wednesday a resolution calling on the parties in the 32-year-old Sahara conflict to engage in substantive negotiations, and extending, for one year, the mandate of the UN peacekeeping mission in the Sahara (MINURSO).
