The republic of Malawai announced, on Tuesday, that it has decided to withdraw its recognition of the so-called "Sahraoui Arab Democratic Republic" (SADR) and to sever all relations with it.

The United States of America affirmed its stance on the Sahara remains unchanged, making it clear that some form of mutually-accepted autonomy is the only realistic solution for this issue.

The United Nations Secretary General, Ban Ki-moon, made it clear on Thursday, that his former personal envoy to the Sahara, Peter Van Walsum, asked to quit his post.

 U.S Secretary of State, Condoleezza Rice reiterated on Sunday her country's support to the Sahara negotiations, deeming that "there are good ideas on the table" and that "there is no need to start over" in an allusion to the Moroccan autonomy proposal.

Morocco addressed, on Monday, the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Ban Ki-moon, on all the constituents of the Sahara issue, said a press release of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation.
