Algeria "must be held accountable for the military recruitment" of children at the hands of the "polisario" in the camps of Tindouf, southwestern Algeria, said Friday in New York, Ambassador Omar Hilale, Permanent Representative of Morocco to the UN.

Guinea-Bissau expressed, Monday in New York, its support for the Moroccan autonomy initiative, deeming it the "most realistic and the most pragmatic” solution to settle the regional conflict over the Sahara.

Permanent Representative of Morocco to the UN, ambassador Omar Hilale said in New York that Algeria "has a political agenda that it uses as an outlet for its problems", while Morocco "has a sacred national cause that unites a people and a Monarchy of five centuries”.

The United States reaffirmed Friday in New York its support for the Moroccan autonomy initiative as the "serious, credible and realistic" solution to the regional dispute over the Moroccan Sahara.

Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Abroad, Nasser Bourita, welcomed, Friday, the resolution 2602 of the UN Security Council, saying it reinforces the achievements of the Kingdom in the Sahara issue, made possible thanks to the personal commitment and permanent monitoring of HM King Mohammed VI.
