Saadani Maoulainine, a member of the Royal Advisory Council for Saharan Affairs (CORCAS), took the floor on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, during the general debate that followed the presentation by the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights on the global human rights situation.

The Royal Advisory Council for Saharan Affairs (Corcas) is participating, as part of the official delegation of the Kingdom of Morocco, in the 60th session of the UN Human Rights Council (HRC), which began yesterday, Monday, September 8, and will continue until October 8, 2025, at the Palais des Nations in Geneva.

The Second Africa-CARICOM (Caribbean Community) Summit, held yesterday, Sunday, in Addis Ababa, reaffirmed the principles of respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of states, as well as the primary responsibility of the United Nations Security Council for the maintenance of international peace and security, as fundamental pillars of the United Nations Charter.

Members of the US Congress reaffirmed on Friday in Rabat the United States’ recognition of Morocco’s sovereignty over its Sahara.
