Pitching tents by a group of citizens outside urban limits of Laayoune, to show what they consider "legitimate social claims," is part of the climate of freedom and democracy prevailing in this region, as in all other parts of the Kingdom, said sources close to local authorities.

Authorities have also initiated a dialogue with these people, involving tribal sheikhs, politicians and actors of civil society, which has allowed understanding that this act represents social grievances from these people that the authorities apprehend in a positive way, add the sources.
