Mustapha Salma Ould Sidi Mouloud, chief inspector of the polisario's police, confirmed, from Zouirate, Mauritania on his way to Tindouf, that he is banned from joining his family in the camps.

"I was warned from inside Tindouf that I was denied access to the camps and that I would be arrested if I set foot in there", said Ould Sidi Mouloud to the regional TV channel of Laayun in a phone statement.

"The situation has become very dangerous", he said, noting that his personal safety does not depend on him anymore, but is the whole world's responsibility from now on.
"I am not asking for the impossible. It is a natural right for a father to be in touch with his children", added the polisario's leader.

Ould Sidi Mouloud underscored that "the decision taken by some self-proclaimed Sahrawis spokespeople proves that the camps' population is held captive and denied the right of expression", adding that those who took this decision "work to serve agendas that do not concern Sahrawis in the first place."

Mustapha Salma Ould Sidi Mouloud had voiced will, in a press conference in Smara on August 9, to defend Morocco's autonomy initiative to put an end to the Sahara’s artificial conflict and the suffering of the Sahrawis in Tindouf camps.
