The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Taib Fassi Fihri, said during an interview broadcast on Thursday by the second channel (2M), that the Kingdom enjoys a "very comfortable" position regarding the issue of the Moroccan Sahara.

Mr. Fassi Fihri, who was the guest of "Invité spécial " program stressed that this "very comfortable" position draws its strength from the actions and initiatives of His Majesty King Mohammed VI and the large positive response by the international community towards Morocco's proposal to grant larger autonomy to the Kingdom’s southern provinces.

He added that the UN Security Council resolution calling for serious negotiations that take into account, within a spirit of realism, the efforts made by Morocco, arguing that the appeal is likely to give the talks a new impetus to achieve the expected solution.

He noted, in this sense, that the personal envoy of UN Secretary-General, Christopher Ross, has proposed to continue the talks in order to consider other matters.

Mr. Fassi Fihri reaffirmed Morocco’s determination to make every effort to reach a consensus solution within the framework of respecting the Kingdom’s territorial integrity.
