The Moroccan autonomy initiative is "a useful proposal and we have trust in negotiations under the aegis of the UN where the proposal is already on the table," Klemm told the press following a meeting, Wednesday, with Chairman of the Royal Advisory Council for Saharan Affairs (CORCAS), Khalihenna Ould Errachid.
"We are very interested in finding a peaceful solution to the dispute that has long lasted," the German diplomat underlined, stressing that the meeting touched on the functions of CORCAS and the Sahara issue.
During a meeting with Speaker of House of Representatives, Mustapha Mansouri in mid-December, visiting Bundestag (German Parliament) member and chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee, Ruprecht Polenz said his country calls for a political solution to the Sahara issue under the aegis of the United Nations that is accepted by all the parties.
