During the meeting, Mr. Ould Errachid made a presentation on the functions and objectives of the Royal Advisory Council for Saharan Affairs, including working on a final and lasting solution to this sterile conflict. He also dealt with the historical inventory of the dispute as well as its stages. Self-governance is a democratic, transparent and achievable substitute within the framework of the democratic values of pluralism and respect of international legitimacy.

Mr. President mentioned to Mr. Lantos solid friendship between the two countries and asked him to support Morocco in the conflict in order to complete the territorial integrity of Morocco.

Mr. Lantos said that his position on autonomy would be made after examining the project.
