Guinean Foreign Minister, Amadou Lamarana Bah, said, here Monday, that Morocco's autonomy proposal to solve the Sahara issue stems from its concern to keep the family united, stressing the need "to avoid any disintegration" in the region.



 "Guinea has a clear cut position... We believe that the Sahara belongs and is part of the Kingdom of Morocco," Lamarana Bah said in a statement to the press, following a meeting with Moroccan Foreign Minister, Taib Fassi Fihri.

    "We adhere to all recommendations issued and supported by the United Nations and other friendly countries of Morocco," to solve this issue, he added.

    As to his talks with his Moroccan counterpart, Lamarana Bah said they mainly focused on ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation and revitalize regional and sub-regional organizations, as well as on the situation in Africa a nd on world peace.

    He also expressed his country’s desire to benefit from Morocco’s know-how and expertise in several fields.
