Argentina's Foreign vice-minister, Victorio Taccetti, has underlined his country's support to the process of negotiations on the Sahara within the United Nations to find a solution that is "agreeable by everybody."

"We support the negotiations process," Taccetti said at the end of a meeting on political consultations between Argentina and Morocco that he co--chaired Monday with Secretary General of the Moroccan Foreign Ministry, Youssef Amrani.

"We have listened attentively to the arguments brought by the Secretary General" he told MAP, underlining his country's role as president of the 4th UN Commission.

The Argentinean official recalled the hard work done in recent years "to reach a consensual solution," to the 33 year-old dispute, adding that this solution "which has been approved has given a breath to dialog and negotiations in order to reach a solution that is agreeable to all.”

On bilateral relations with Morocco, Taccetti described them as “very positive,” especially since the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries in 1960.

He noted that bilateral relations have developed in recent years, which boosted trade exchanges, underlining that the two countries are looking forward to reinforce cooperation in scientific, technical and cultural fields.
