The Secretary General of the Interfaith International, Mr. Charles Graves attracted Monday in Geneva, the Council of Human Rights (CHR) on the grave situation of missing people in the camps of Tindouf " .

Speaking at a panel on the issue of missing persons, held at the Palais des Nations in the framework of the ninth session of the UNHRC, Mr. Graves pointed out that this situation deserves to be exposed during the interactive dialogue, which took place during this panel.

We must not forget the Sahara conflict which generates its own missing people in the Tindouf camps, he stressed, adding that "the Polisario has eliminated, during several purges, people he has put in prisons ".

We have never heard of such persons detained in Polisario jails, especially in Errachid prison, he denounced.

In this regard, he stressed that the issue of persons missing in the Tindouf camps must be maintained on the agenda of the Council of Human Rights and the working group in charge of this issue.

Saying that the list of Polisario missing persons has been submitted on several occasions to the UN Council of Human Rights, the Secretary General of Interfaith International, said that the non-governmental organization France Libertes "had publicly denounced the disappearance of Moroccan soldiers who were in the hands of the Polisario.

"A Mauritanian non-governmental organization asks today information about tens of Mauritanian missing," he said .

Experts from the International Committee of the Red Cross, representatives of governments, NGOs, international organizations and national institutions for the Defense of Human Rights took part in this event.

The Advisory Committee will thereafter conduct a study on best practices in this matter.
