The Algeria-backed Polisario separatists have recently arrested two Australian journalists for shooting a documentary film on slavery and racism in the Polisario-run Tindouf camps, southwestern Algeria, reliable sources said.

In their film, Daniel Fallshow and Violeta Ayala, speak of slavery and racism within the same family which is divided into two parts, according to the skin color: the so-called "black slaves" belonging to the "white master."

A couple of weeks ago, the two journalists were authorized to work in the camps, where thousands of Moroccan civilians are kept under their will by the Polisario - a separatist group that claims the independence of Morocco's Southern Province known as the Sahara.

Mr. Fallshow and Ms. Ayala were living in the tents of a family in the camp of Aousserd. On Tuesday, they informed one of their hosts that they had to move to another place, which pushed the Polisario to launch search operations.

The journalists then phoned their families in Australia to tell them that some foreign people had kidnapped them. Once informed of the “kidnapping,” the Australian Foreign Ministry asked the Polisario to take the necessary measures to find the journalists.

The two people were afterwards found in a hostel belonging to a Cuban physician, but the cassettes had disappeared.
