Major Event

"The autonomy of southern provinces at the service of the Kingdom’s territorial unity " is the theme chosen this year for the traditional meeting organised by the Sahrawi tribe "Ouled Tidrarine" in the region of Essaouira.

During the speeches marking the official opening ceremony of this religious, cultural and social  event which took place Saturday in the presence of representatives of local authorities, elders of the Ouled Tidrarine tribe expressed  their support to the autonomy project for southern provinces under the sovereignty of the kingdom and the integrity of its territory.

Affirming that autonomy is the only solution to the artificial Sahara conflict, which has lasted too long, speakers called on Algeria to lift the blockade imposed upon the Moroccans sequestered in the camps of shame installed on its territory.

They welcomed the various reform initiatives undertaken with courage, wisdom and foresight, by His Majesty King Mohammed VI and put forward the development in the southern provinces, expressing their loyalty to the glorious Alawite throne and  their unwavering mobilization behind His Majesty the King to defend the country’s territorial integrity.

They welcomed the attention given to Ouled Tidrarine tribe and the importance of joint efforts to make the region benefit from more projects under the National Initiative for Human Development.

Initiated in coordination with the town of Ouled Mrabet (approximately 60 km of Essaouira), this three-day festival aims to devote the links and contacts between the inhabitants of Ouled Tidrarine Al Ansar tribe.

It is also an opportunity to encourage the descendants of the tribe to further mobilization to strengthen the gains in terms of progress and prosperity in accordance with the aspirations of His Majesty King Mohammed VI.

The program of this meeting, held between August 15-17 in the zaouia of Ouled Tidrarine, Tafettacht, where a large number of people from the Saharan tribe emigrated tens of years ago includes cultural activities, Fantasia and hassanie music concerts.

Hundreds of the Ouled Tidrarine inhabitants came from different cities of the kingdom, including Laayoune, Tan Tan, Dakhla, Guelmim, Agadir and Boujdour, and from abroad to attend this meeting, whose first edition was held in 1969.
