In an article published Monday by the Lebanese newspaper « Al Moustakbal”, Khair Allah has confirmed that ” Algeria has no interest in closing its borders with Morocco, and particularly in supporting the Polisario which could never create an independent State in the Sahara, and which has no other choice but to adhere to the autonomy project proposed by Rabat”.

Under the title « After the return of terrorism to the Maghreb”, the writer underlined that the autonomy project in the southern provinces is “the shortest way to unify the countries of the region around a serious plan so as to face terrorism in its new shape beyond narrow considerations”.

«Could Algeria break the vicious circle of war against terrorism in the Maghreb region, or will it remain prisoner of the historical complex called Morocco ? », questioned the Lebanese political scientist, estimating that in the end, Alger has a problem with terrorism and not with Morocco”.

Emphasizing the existence of cooperation between terrorists operating in the Maghreb region and of Al Qaïda group networks “active in Africa and in Europe and who take advantage of the geographical position of the Maghreb countries”, Khair Allah has indicated that Algeria is “ the weakest link in the regional cooperation against terrorism”.

« Moreover, he adds, it is obvious that Algeria is still prisoner of the narrow considerations that hinder any dialogue with others concerning war against terrorism », noting that Algeria believes that cooperation with the Americans and the French is enough to eradicate this phenomena, and ignores that the eradication of the flea depends on cooperation with neighboring countries”.   

Khair Allah, author of many articles and political researches in Arab and international newspapers and publications, has indicated that the events occurring in the last months in the Maghreb region “reflect a more and more intense activity of the terrorist group Al Qaida particularly in Algeria itself”. 

" « This coincides with a tension in the Morocco-Algerian relations due to the Sahara issue as Alger uses  Polisario to weaken Morocco and its resources », as he has indicated.

According to Khair Allah, « There is no other solution but to think about a way to face terrorism within a different angle starting from the fact that war against terrorism can be won only through the regional cooperation”.
