In a statement issued on the occasion of the celebration by Morocco of the 23rd anniversary of the Throne Day, U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken expressed his congratulations and best wishes to HM the King and the Moroccan people.
He stressed that "this year marks the 23rd anniversary of the Sovereign's accession to the Throne as we continue to expand the longstanding and historic friendship between the United States and Morocco.
"Throughout the past year, we have continued our unwavering friendship and commend HM King Mohammed VI for his role in promoting regional stability, security, and prosperity," the U.S. diplomatic chief said.
US President Joe Biden had stressed, in a congratulatory message to HM the King on the same occasion, that the exceptional relations between Morocco and the United States continue to strengthen thanks to the solid foundation of "our common history".
"This year was marked by the celebration of the 16th anniversary of the entry into force of our free trade agreement and the holding in Morocco of the ministerial meeting of the anti-Daech coalition and the U.S.-Africa Business Summit," said the U.S. president.
