Several political, community and human rights groups from the Saharan provinces have denounced "Polisario" provocation in Tifariti in the Moroccan Sahara and called on Algeria to stop undermining efforts to seeking a final political solution to the Sahara issue.



In statements to the MAP, these groups said that the provocations by the "Polisario" is a desperate attempt seeking to influence the 4th round of negotiations in Manhasset that Morocco went to with good faith on the basis of the Moroccan autonomy initiative.

Polisario acts spring from its bad faith and its determination, along with its protector, Algeria, to impede any settlement of the Sahara issue, and go against the international community which welcomed the Moroccan proposal, they added.  

It is Algeria which holds the power of decision and Polisario is a tool that handles easily, they said, calling on the international community and influential forces to put pressure on Algeria to “stop obstructing the progress of negotiations and move towards a definitive solution that serves the interests of the region and its peoples.  

These Sahrawi actors condemned human rights violations suffered by Sahrawis sequestered in the Tindouf camps, violations that getting worse as the international community is gradually adhering to the Moroccan proposal of autonomy and hat divisions within the Polisario is deepening with the going home of a growing number of its leaders.

They affirmed that the Moroccan initiative of autonomy in the southern provinces under Moroccan sovereignty is a wise and realistic solution to put an end to this artificial conflict, and for the region to avoid the causes of division and conflict harmful consequences for the region’s future and security, calling on Polisario leadership to be wise and take into account the future of the Sahrawi people and put an end to their suffering in Tindouf camps.
