The National Security chief, Mr. Charki Draiss, received Thursday in Rabat, a delegation composed of nine representatives of the inhabitants of the province of Tan Tan, including members of the Royal Advisory Council for Saharan Affairs (CORCAS), parliamentarians and local officials, who presented their heartfelt condolences following the assassination of policeman Abdelaziz Meski "Polisario" separatists in Tan Tan. 



During the meeting, requested by the representatives of the inhabitants of the province, members of the delegation have requested Mr. Draiss to convey their deep condolences and sincere sympathy to the entire family of national security and the deceased family, imploring the Almighty to welcome the martyr in paradise and grant them patience and solace.

A communiqué from the General Directorate of National Security said that the delegation took the opportunity to condemn this heinous act, indicating its total rejection of such irresponsible practices.

The delegation members have requested the Director General to transmit their feelings of fidelity and loyalty to His Majesty King Mohammed VI and their sincere gratitude for the kindness shown by the Sovereign for the southern provinces.

On this occasion, Mr. Draiss has expressed his appreciation to the representatives of people in the province of Tan Tan, stressing that this is not alien to the Saharan tribes known for their nationalism and their sincere commitment to the territorial integrity.

The Director General pointed out that security is the responsibility of all elected officials and citizens-and that the family of National Security will spare no effort to maintain law and order in all regions and defend the territorial integrity, under His Majesty’s perspicacity.

Late Abdelaziz Meski (aged 35) was brutally attacked last February 26 by "Polisario" separatists while he carried out his national duty. Hit in the head, the deceased was transferred to a hospital in Marrakech where he succumbed to his injuries last Monday
