Morocco and the United States are bound by an unbreakable friendship, a friendship which will be further strengthened thanks to the vision and leadership of HM King Mohammed VI, underlined on Sunday U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC) Chief Executive Officer and Executive Chairman Adam Boehler.

"I thank HM King Mohammed VI for his vision and leadership. This is the reason why we are here in Dakhla today," said Mr. Boehler, in a video-message broadcast on the occasion of the visit by a high-level US delegation to the premises of the future US Consulate General in Dakhla, in the presence of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Abroad, Nasser Bourita.

He noted that through the upcoming opening of a US consulate in Dakhla, "we are investing to improve the lives of Moroccan citizens in the southern provinces and across the country."

Boehler said the focus will be not only on "major infrastructure projects, but above all on the living conditions and well-being of every Moroccan", in accordance with HM the King's vision.

At the end of last December, the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation announced initiatives aimed at mobilizing $ 5 billion in investment in Morocco and the region.

This series of initiatives aims to increase US investment in Morocco and strengthen its role as the continent's economic hub, Adam Boehler said in a release.
