Mr. Naciri who answered Thursday at a press briefing to a question about the statement by the UN Secretary General, according to which there have been no real negotiations in Manhasset 3, said that Mr. Ban Ki-moon "is not far from the truth."
When we go alone into negotiations with the desire to move forward and that the other side is not responding, we don’t move very far, he said.
Everyone knows that in Manhasset, there were two basic approaches: one-sided, rigid, that ended 35 years back and has refused to evolve, and the other an attitude of openness, seeking compromise and which was supported at least implicitly, if not explicitly by the international community, namely the Moroccan initiative of autonomy, he added.
And he concluded: "Now, we remain very optimistic in Morocco, we continue to hope and wish that a wind of reason and rationality will blow on the other side of the border so that Manhasset 4 will be a real step forward.
