The health services of the Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra region carried out, as of May 21, a total of 717 tests on suspected cases of contamination with the new coronavirus (Covid-19), which turned out to be negative following laboratory analyzes, indicated Thursday the regional direction of Health (DRS).

522 cases originate from the city of Laâyoune, 126 from Boujdour, 67 from Smara and 02 from Tarfaya, underlines the DRS in its daily bulletin on the epidemiological situation in the region.
The Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra region has not received any confirmation of Covid-19 infection since the beginning of April, when four patients infected with the virus in Boujdour had recovered from the disease after a stay of a few days at the Moulay El Hassan Ben El Mehdi hospital in Laâyoune.
