A sit-in was organized Wednesday front of the headquarter of the United Nations in Rabat to require about the fate of Moroccans who disappeared in the Tindouf camps.  The participants in this movement initiated by the national association of the family of martyrs and missing of Moroccan Sahara, have scanned slogans denouncing torture practiced at Moroccans sequestrated in the Tindouf camps, and reminding of the pursuit of the struggle so the fate of missing Moroccans will be cleared up

In a letter addressed to the general secretary of the UN, and handed over to the UN coordinator in Morocco, the association called to put pressure on “Algeria and its puppet( the Polisario)in order to clarify without delay the situation of missing Moroccans” and “ mortal remains will be given back to their families”

The association required from the United Nation s “to put an end to the sufferings of Moroccan families who are deprived of their relatives, following the artificial conflict around the Sahara which lasted for a long time”

The association equally incites the secretary general of the UN to make sure “that Polisario’s torturers, and the state of Algeria involved in the violence and massacre of sequestrated Moroccans are taken to justice, in order to put an end to the impunity”

The association  mentioned that “ the humanitarian dossier in relation with the Sahara conflict is not  completely sorted out “  reminding in this respect that “ the case of missing people remains in suspense, and in flagrant violation of the international conventions in relation with human rights and the international human law”

The same source  mentions  that although” substantial efforts” “ deployed by the international red cross” “ the influence of the latter on the parties concerned remains limited” “ noting “ families of missing Moroccans have suffered enough all forms of  deprivation, even in their very basic rights, in this respect they have not  received the lesser information about their relatives since their  disappearance”

The association has finally asked the UN “to make out of the current year a year of truth about the fate of missing people during the Sahara war”
