The annoucement was made by the emissary of the Comoros President, Bianrifi Tarmidi, following talks with Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita.

This annoucement comes after the opening, in June, of an Honorary Consulate of Côte d'Ivoire in the Kingdom's Southern provinces (Laayoune), as part of efforts to further foster diplomatic and economic relations linking the two countries.
