While Polisario separatists gather diplomatic defeats, Morocco is rallying further support to the issue of territorial integrity, wrote the Paraguayan journalist Luis Agüero Wagner, echoing the position of his country favorable to a solution to the Sahara issue under the aegis of the United Nations and " respect for the territorial integrity " of the Kingdom.

This position was reaffirmed by Julio Cesar Velasquez Tilleria, speaker of the Paraguayan National Congress (Senate) , during his recent visit to Morocco during which he held talks with several Moroccan officials, noted the journalist in an article published this week by the independent electronic Paraguayan Diario XXI.

The author of the tribune reported remarks made by Mr. Velasquez Tilleria in which he said: " We reaffirm our commitment to work for the consolidation of our relations with Morocco and reiterate our position on the Sahara issue for a solution under the auspices of the United Nations respecting the territorial integrity of Morocco to achieve as soon as possible to resolve this issue . "

After stressing Algeria’s role, Agüero Wagner added that Paraguay, which was the victim of spoliation of a large part of its territory in 1870 and 1938 , decided to " show solidarity with Morocco against attempts to amputate a part of its territory legitimately recovered . "

Separatists suffered other setbacks recently , following the refusal by the Spanish National Court , the highest criminal court on the complaint filed in 2007 against leaders of Polisario and Algerian military for " genocide and serious violations of rights " in the Tindouf camps.
