Increasingly abuses committed by the Polisario Front officials with impunity against populations in Tindouf camps , says MEP in a letter to the head of the EU diplomacy issue, Catherine Ashton.
For proof, added to the MEP, " Laayoune -TV " broadcast the testimony of a Saharawi woman who revealed rape she suffered in a refugee camp by the former Minister Justice of the Polisario.
Facing these intolerable abuses , what concrete steps will the UE High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy take to put an end to the grave violations of human rights in Tindouf camps? said Pargneaux .
The European Commission should consider that humanitarian aid is not distributed directly to needy families but to the corrupt officials of the Polisario, added the MEP.
Pargneaux asked last February Ashton if she intends to conduct an investigation into the assassination by the Algerian army of two Saharawi traders at the border between Algeria and Mauritania.
Following investigations by the European Anti-Fraud Office (OLAF), which showed fraud in the allocation of European aid to populations in Tindouf camps , MEP had also asked the European Commission about measures to be taken to ensure that aid reaches the right beneficiaries.
