A Moroccan delegation participates July 2-3, in Geneva, in the 4th assessment meeting of confidence-building measures (CBM). The meeting, held under the auspices of the High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), hosts delegations from Morocco, Algeria, Mauritania and Polisario, said Monday a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation.


The meeting aims to assess the two components of the humanitarian program, namely family visits by air and apolitical seminars, based on the updated action plan approved in January 2012, according to the same source.

CBMs fall within the overall mandate of UNHCR humanitarian protection for populations of Tindouf camps and in accordance with the relevant international conventions, practices and UNHCR decisions.

The Moroccan delegation to the meeting, which will be led by Nasser Bourita, Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, includes Omar Hilal, Ambassador, Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Morocco in Geneva and El Arbi Mrabet Governor in charge of coordination with MINURSO, as well as representatives of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation and the Interior.
