Saadani Maalainine, Corcas member, participated in the conference organized by the Organisation for Communication in Africa and the Promotion of International Economic Cooperation (OCAPROCE International), Friday March, 8 2013 in Geneva.

This conference was held on the sidelines of the 22th session of the Council of Human Rights, under the theme "children's rights in the information society in Africa."

Several experts and UN officials attended the conference, including Dr. Krishna Ahooja Patel, international expert, representing the Women's International League for Peace and Freedom (WILPF), Princess Micheline Makou Djouma, president and representative of OCAPROCE International with the United Nations Office in Geneva, New York and Vienna, as well as other experts and representatives.

Participants highlighted the importance of the Information Society in the fight against marginalization and vulnerability of children, women and the family in general.

For her part, Saadani Maalainine stressed, in her speech, the situation in the Tindouf camps focusing on the plight of women who face daily insecurity because of conditions in which they live namely exile, lack of freedom of movement and minimum conditions of life.

Corcas representative did not miss the opportunity to draw a parallel with the situation of women and children in the Sahara in southern Morocco where reforms have resulted in a significant change in the lives of women and families, while providing increased legal rights and equalities between men and women and thus improving the living conditions of the family and children.

This improvement of living conditions is evidenced by the reform of the Family Code as well as programs that help fight against school failure and school support for children of families in extreme poverty.
