The Minister of the Interior, said that 187 out of the 367 files were treated since 2010, adding that the remaining cases "will soon be resolved."
The Minister explained that the identification procedure "is legal and has no complexity," noting that this is due to the fact that the Tindouf camps hosts people from the Moroccan Sahara, and other regions as recognized by many international organizations.
This situation necessitates the identification procedure to ensure that they are actually the inhabitants of the Sahara and, therefore, to deliver to them identity documents to enjoy full rights of citizenship.
