Mrs. Nancy Huff the chairwoman of “ teach the children international” who has in the past took part in a humanitarian activity for a long time at Tindouf camps , said during a meeting held with the president and members of laayoune borough , that the continuation of installing camps in Tindouf is a waste of time, and it is high time that sahraouis join their families, and live in their country.
Adding that during her stay in Tindouf she witnessed several violation in the field of human rights, among others stealing and trade with the international humanitarian aids granted to the inhabitants of the camps.
As to Mrs. Kathy Potter , chairwoman of the council of human rights , she made it clear that she will with her colleague study the economic , social and human rights situation in addition to projects implemented in the sahraoui provinces , adding that the American society is worried about the situation of human rights in Tindouf camps .
The elected and leaders of sahraoui tribes have expressed during their meeting with the American human rights activists their attachment to the autonomy proposal as a realistic solution ,which won the international community approval, stressing that this proposal guarantees dignity, freedom and rights of the inhabitants of the southern provinces, which is not the case of Moroccans captured inTindouf camps who are subject of humiliation.
They have also expressed their attachment to the link of allegiance, indicating that the development projects implemented during the present rule of His majesty king Mohammed VI, especially in the fields of infrastructure, social development, and the establishment of social, health and education institutions is a better proof that Morocco is involved in the process of modernization and democracy
It is worth mentioning that this visit also includes; the Minorso, a number of projects, the national human rights bureau in Laayoune and different activitists.
