The summit of the non-aligned movement has expressed, on Friday following the end of its works in Teheran, its support to the negotiations process about the regional conflict of the Moroccan Sahara within the  framework of the UN in order to reach a “mutually acceptable political solution”



The head of states and governments of the non –aligned countries movement have “congratulated themselves on the negotiations process held under the auspices of the United Nations and the commitment of the parties to show the political will and work in a proper environment for a dialogue in order to reach an intensive phase of negotiations” as read in the final statement of the summit.

The summit specifies that the objectif consists also to insure the success of the negotiations and the implementation of the last seven UN resolutions ( 1754-2044) which have underlined that the Moroccan autonomy initiative is serious and credible . These resolutions call the parties to get in intense and substantial negotiations, giving proof of realism and spirit of compromise and underlying efforts made by Morocco since 2006 to reach a final political solution to this conflict. They equally recall all parties concerned to fully cooperate with the UN and with each other in view of reaching the said solution .

the summit which has known  the participation of an important Moroccan delegation lead by undersecretary of foreign affairs and cooperation , Youssef Amrani has also greeted the commitment of all parties to pursue the negotiation process within the framework of the UN . In a statement to the MPA , the undersecretary made it clear that the final document of Tehran ‘s summit reinforced the Moroccan position when the non- aligned movement underlined the necessity to each a political solution on the basis of  compromise and realism for the success of the negotiations.
