France and Morocco have exceptional relations which transcend the cultural, historical and friendship ties between the two countries, French Interior Minister Manuel Vall said, recalling that HM King Mohammed VI was the first head of state to be received by French President François Hollande at the Elysée Palace.

He told 2M TV channel that his visit to the Kingdom is meant to enhance and deepen these exceptional ties between the two countries.

On the Moroccan Sahara issue, Valls said that France has an unchanging stance on this matter, noting that his country supports Morocco's initiatives and that the Kingdom can rely on France on this issue among other things.

The French official surveyed the wide range of issues discussed with Moroccan officials, notably migration, the exchange of students, security cooperation and Islam in France.
Earlier, the French minister, on a working visit to Morocco, was received by HM King Mohammed VI at the Rabat royal cabinet.

He also held talks with head of the government Abdelillah Benkirane, with Moroccan peer Mohand Laenser and Islamic affairs minister Ahmed Toufiq.
