The position of Sierra Leone on the Sahara issue converges with the Moroccan position, as it defends the Kingdom’s territorial unity and sovereignty, said on Thursday Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Saad El Dine Otmani.



  Speaking at a press briefing after a meeting in Rabat with its counterpart in Sierra Leone Joseph Bandabla Dauda, visiting Morocco, Mr. El Otmani stressed that relations between the two countries "are moving towards the better."

 Mr. Otmani said his partner has expressed his country's support for "efforts by the Kingdom in the field of protection of territorial sovereignty and national unity of the Kingdom".

 The positions of Morocco and Sierra Leone converge on this issue, the minister said, noting that "relations between the two countries are good and are moving towards the better."

 Economically and culturally, Mr. El Otmani said that bilateral relations are still below the aspirations of both countries, stressing that the visit of Mr Dauda is "an important moment to further boost and enhance the level expected ".

 Mr. El Otmani also expressed the readiness of Morocco to offer its experience and support to the Republic of Sierra Leone in the technical field as well as in various development sectors.

 "Programs have been designed in this direction and we strive to develop them further," he said.
