The think tank points out in this context, the strong support given to this plan by major world powers, especially the United States and France.

The French Foreign Minister, Alain Juppé, described in March, the Moroccan plan to reach a solution to the question of the Sahara under Moroccan sovereignty, "the only realistic proposal on the table," the source said.

The head of French diplomacy had indeed said, during an official visit to Morocco, that "we still think that the Moroccan autonomy plan, which is the only realistic proposal on the table, is the serious and credible basis for a solution ".

Moreover, the Economist Intelligence Unit highlighted the unequivocal support provided by the United States to the Moroccan proposal.

Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton said recently that the Moroccan plan "is serious, realistic and credible," said the think-tank.
