The head of government of Sao Tome and Principe, Patrice Emery Trovoada, reiterated Tuesday in Rabat, the country's position supporting the Moroccaness of the Sahara.



In a statement to the press after his talks with Head of Government, Abdelilah Benkirane, Trovoada said that the Republic of Sao Tome and Principe has always defended the Moroccan Sahara, expressing the hope that this issue will be resolved as soon as possible, " because Africa has to avoid discord and address other issues."

 Trovoada urged African countries which have not taken a position yet in favor of the territorial integrity of Morocco to "recognize the territorial integrity of the Kingdom".

 Describing his discussions with Benkirane as "very important", Trovoada said they were an opportunity to explore the prospects for cooperation between the two countries, expressing the wish that bilateral relations would further be strengthened.

 The head of government of Sao Tome and Principe, on a working visit to Morocco, had earlier talked with the presidents of the House of Representatives, the House of Councilors and Foreign Minister.
