The Gambian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mamadou Tangara reiterated Tuesday in Rabat, his country’s position supporting the Moroccaness of the Sahara, noting that this position "does not suffer from any ambiguity."



 "Our position does not suffer from any ambiguity. Gambia recognizes the Moroccan Sahara and we fought for the cause. Personally, before being Minister of Foreign Affairs, I fought at the African group and I defended the Moroccan Sahara within the AU to try to make understand the cause to those who did not understand, "he told reporters after a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and cooperation, Mr. Saad Eddine El Othmani.

 The Gambian minister, also described as "excellent" relations between Morocco and Gambia that will know, he said, "a second boost."

 For his part, Mr. El Othmani said the Gambian Minister carries a message from Gambian President to His Majesty King Mohammed VI, welcoming the position of Gambia on the Moroccaness of the Sahara which has always been "clear" .

 He assured in this regard, that Morocco continues to make efforts to promote partnership between the two countries and the consolidation of bilateral relations.

 He said he agreed with his Gambian counterpart to further strengthen relations between the two countries at the political, economic and cultural aspects as well as in education and human resources, in addition to the holding in two months of the Joint Committee for the reactivation of several conventions.
