The operation of family visit exchange, led by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), between the camps of Tindouf in southern Algeria and the Kingdom’s southern provinces, continued Wednesday by the organization of the 37th trip for the year 2011 from and towards the province of Laayoune.






This exchange concerned 65 people from 10 families, said a statement of the coordination office with MINURSO.

 Accordingly, 35 individuals from eight families from the province of Laayoune embarked on Friday aboard a UN aircraft at the airport of Laayoune Hassan I to Tindouf, while five families totaling 30 persons belonging to 5 families from the Smara and Aouserd camps landed from the same plane.

 This exchange of visits took place in good conditions and all measures have been taken to ensure a warm welcome to the beneficiaries, said the source.

 Through this exchange, the total number of people receiving family visits since March 2004, amounted to 12,243 people, 5,878 are from the southern provinces and 6365 from the Tindouf camps.
