Three African countries, Senegal, Ivory coast, and Comores have renewed Monday before the 4th commission of the UN general assembly their support of the Moroccan autonomy initiative, as a basis for a lasting solution of the issue, therefore Senegal “would like to express one more time its support to the Moroccan initiative aiming at granting a substantial autonomy “to the Sahara” within the respect of the sovereignty” of Morocco asserted the Senegalese ambassador to the UN Abdou salam Diallo.



This reasonable and realistic proposal appears as a good dynamic granting the best perspectives for a political, durable and mutually accepted solution” of the   Sahara issue, Mr diallo added.

As to the Ivory coast ambassador to the UN, Youssouffou Bamba , he asserted that the Moroccan autonomy initiative “ indicates the serious  and credible efforts made by Morocco aiming at reaching realistic solution” qualifying “inacceptable “ the status quo.
 
Ivory Coast, he added “encourages consequently parties to carry on the negotiations within the framework of negotiations held under the UN auspices, and contributing therefore to improve trust measures”
 
He also underlined the attachment of his country to the “peace and security in the entire African continent, and also to the strengthening of the brotherly links between all countries and peoples of this continent”. That is why, he added his delegation greets and supports efforts made “by the personal envoy of the secretary general for the Sahara, Christopher Ross in order to “favor a new cycle of direct negotiations” insisting that the” status quo is not acceptable and no party makes use of it”
 
It is then “crucial that the parties engage in the substance negotiations, making some necessary compromises to avoid differences in order to establish the basis for a constructive dialogue” he added, before concluding that the ivory coast “reasserted its support to the UN resolutions and support efforts made by the general secretary for the search of a political solution” about the Sahara issue.
 
The Comoros union has qualified the Moroccan autonomy proposal being “a realistic, viable and wise option” establishing for the parties unascertainable guaranties of national cohesion and stability for the entire region
 
The “ Moroccan substantial autonomy  proposal “ presents in our view a realistic option , viable and wise asserted the  Comoros union deputy permanent representative  Mohammed Oussein
 
He also added that the Comores union calls all parties   to go forward under the aegis of the UN by pursuing  the dynamic created by the Moroccan proposal in a franc and loyal dialogue which without it the efforts of the international community efforts remain in vain”
 
He underlined that this situation “requires from all parties wisdom and flexibility for a negotiable solution with view  to get out of this deadlock, and to   avoid dangers of terrorism , organized crime for the united Maghreb on a  new reconciliation  cooperation and friendship”
